New Year’s Resolution Tips!

Are you a New Year Resolution maker? How do they work out for you? Some of us have great intentions, don’t we? If you are the type of person to follow through and achieve them, then well done! Sometimes we need something like starting a new year to help kick start our goal setting.

Then some of us set resolutions and forget about them, or they were a little unrealistic, to begin with, so it got too hard to keep to our well-intentioned ideas. If this is the case for you, why not make small changes that turn into new habits instead? With the year that’s just passed, most of us don’t need more stress, so the little things can make a big difference.

When we start noticing those little things that help us get through, it can make life a little easier. Some people find it useful to make a note of what has helped in the past so you can be reminded to do it again. Others set up new routines that regularly incorporate the changes you are currently making. 

We can also be looking after ourselves and preventing illness instead of only reacting when something goes wrong. Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated, but the impact can be well worth it.

  • A good massage can help lift the weight off a stressed mind and sore body 
  • The right food combinations can reduce inflammation and boost immunity, so you could try changing one healthy food habit at a time (e.g. swapping that mid-afternoon sugary treat to a piece of fruit or dark chocolate)
  • Treating imbalances in the body can help provide symptom relief, so get advice on what your diet is lacking, or answers for symptoms (e.g. on the type of magnesium and stretches that help muscle cramps and calf pain)
  • Keeping up with prescribed exercises can help your body to function at its best

Meanwhile, everyday health and wellness habits that can become a regular routine might also include:

  • Taking a morning walk 
  • Spending 10 minutes doing meditation each evening

  • Planning the week’s meals ahead of time
  • Committing to a weekly training session
