I’m often asked about the benefits of massage on health. To answer that question I usually quote one of my favourite studies. It was published by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California.
Why I love this study so much is they used blood samples from before and after massage to demonstrate that massage has a significant beneficial effect on hormones and the immune system. As stress and tension can have the opposite effect, it again demonstrates why massage can be so beneficial to our modern lives.
So if you’re feeling run down and/or stressed a couple of massages could be just what the doctor ordered – so to speak!
