Our Approach to Massage
Massage is one of the oldest treatments known to humankind. In its simplest form, it is touch therapy, where a therapist works with your body to help relieve pain, tension and discomfort. It is a well-recognised and accepted form of health care that really does make a difference to how you feel.
Between busy lives, stressful demands, physical activities and the general wear and tear on our bodies, having a massage is a way of doing something to help heal, recover and take care of ourselves. It releases tension held in the body, providing a positive effect on the nervous system, circulation and blood flow.
At Feel Amazing, we take a realistic approach to wellness. We value the connections we create with our clients and hope to offer you a warm, down-to-earth approach to care. We have worked hard to separate ourselves from the side of the wellness industry that creates pressure through unrealistic expectations. Rather, we encourage you to feel comfortable and relaxed about seeking helpful treatment.
A lot of people hear about us through word of mouth, from someone who has been to us before. Some have tried elsewhere over the years, due to moving jobs or addresses, but find their way back. Others have been coming to us for decades, and we now care for their families and children too. That kind of trust means something to us.
Techniques and Treatment Styles
All bookings (other than pregnancy) are made as a remedial massage. Your therapist will draw on whichever techniques best suit what your body needs on the day. Read on for more information about these differences.
Remedial Massage
The most common type of massage we provide. Techniques are tailored to your presenting needs and symptoms, with the aim of restoring function, relieving pain and supporting recovery. If you are claiming a health fund rebate, remedial massage is the registered treatment type. HICAPS is available for on-the-spot claiming.

Deep Tissue Massage
A technique mainly used for musculoskeletal issues such as strains, chronic tightness and sports injuries. It involves sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of muscles and connective tissue.

Relaxation Massage
A lighter treatment aimed at relaxing the body, calming the mind and helping you switch off. Sometimes that is exactly what your body needs, and research shows that even a lighter touch can have lasting benefits.

Benefits of Massage
The benefits of regular massage may include:

- Relief from muscle spasms
- Greater range of movement
- Relief from stress and tension
- Support for faster healing from injury

The immediate effect is often felt in the ability to physically move more freely and a lightness in the body. Frequently asked questions
Do I need to choose a type of massage when I book?
Not unless you are booking a pregnancy massage. For all other bookings, you can simply book a remedial massage and let your therapist know your preferences and what is going on when you arrive. They will use the most appropriate techniques for you on the day.
How long should my massage be?
It depends on what you need. A 30-minute session works well for a focused area like neck and shoulders. A 60-minute session is our most popular, allowing time to address multiple areas. A 90-minute session is ideal if you need more thorough work or just want a longer session to unwind.
Does remedial massage hurt?
Some areas may be tender, particularly if muscles are tight or haven't been worked on before. Your therapist will check in with you and adjust the pressure to your comfort level. If you experience pain during your massage, let your therapist know straight away.
Can I claim massage on my health fund?
Yes. Our remedial massage therapists are registered with health funds, and we have HICAPS available for on-the-spot claiming. Bring your health fund card (physical or electronic) and you only pay the gap. See our fees and health fund information
How often should I get a massage?
It depends on your situation. Your therapist can recommend a schedule based on your needs. Some clients come monthly for maintenance, others come when symptoms flare up. Regular treatment generally leads to better long-term outcomes.
What should I do after my massage?
Drink extra water after your massage and take it easy if you feel fatigued. If you experience any soreness, gentle stretching in a warm shower or a bath with Epsom salts can help. Let your therapist know how you felt at your next appointment so they can adjust your treatment.
Can I get a massage while pregnant?
Yes. Pregnancy massage is one of our specialties and is available from conception to birth. We have specially designed cushions that support the pregnant body safely and comfortably. Read more about pregnancy massage at Feel Amazing
Are there any conditions where massage is not recommended?
Most people can benefit from massage. However, there are some contraindications including bleeding disorders, deep vein thrombosis, fractures in the target area, severe osteoporosis and severe thrombocytopenia. If you have a serious health condition or are undergoing cancer treatment, please discuss massage with your doctor before booking.

Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes. Gift vouchers are available for all massage lengths and can be personalised, emailed directly to the recipient or printed. They are valid for 3 years. Purchase a gift voucher We accept HICAPS, Visa, Mastercard, AMEX and cash.
