When looking for healthcare, much of the focus is naturally on finding the right treatment. But finding the right practitioner can be just as important. At Feel Amazing Wellness Centre in Chatswood, our team includes practitioners with different experience, areas of interest and approaches to care.
Even within the same profession, practitioners may use different techniques or have particular areas they enjoy working with.
Finding someone whose approach suits you can help you feel more comfortable, better understood and more involved in your care.
Why Practitioner Fit Matters
There isn’t one practitioner or treatment approach that will suit everyone.
Some people prefer more hands-on treatment, while others may benefit from exercise, movement advice, lifestyle changes or a combination of approaches. You may prefer a practitioner who explains things in detail, or someone whose treatment style or particular areas of experience suit what you are looking for.
These differences don’t necessarily make one approach better than another. They simply mean that finding the right fit can be an important part of your healthcare.
Communication Matters
Good communication is an important part of any healthcare relationship.
Being able to discuss your concerns, ask questions and understand the options available can help you make informed decisions about your care.
It also gives your practitioner a better understanding of what you would like to achieve, what has or hasn’t helped in the past, and what may be appropriate for your individual circumstances.
Different People Need Different Approaches
The reason someone seeks treatment, their health history, preferences and goals can all influence the type of care that may suit them.
For one person, the priority may be returning to sport after an injury. For another, it may be managing ongoing muscle tension, improving mobility or feeling more comfortable with everyday activities.
Treatment can also change over time as your needs change.
This is why personalised care matters. Rather than taking the same approach with everyone, treatment should take into account the person receiving it.
Working Together
Healthcare works best when you can take an active role in your care.
That might mean talking with your practitioner about your goals, asking why a particular treatment has been recommended, discussing how you are responding, or letting them know when something isn’t working for you.
At Feel Amazing Wellness Centre, our practitioners come from different professional backgrounds and bring their own skills, experience and areas of interest.
Having a team offering chiropractic, massage, acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, naturopathy and other treatment options also means that, where appropriate, your practitioner may suggest another member of the team who could help with a different aspect of your care.
Finding the Right Fit for You
Finding the right practitioner isn’t about finding someone who treats every person the same way.
It’s about finding someone whose skills and approach suit your needs, and with whom you feel comfortable discussing your health and what you would like to achieve.
Our practitioner profiles include more about each team member’s background, treatment approach and areas of interest to help you decide who may be a good fit for you.
